Call to Prayer

BURMA DESPERATELY NEEDS YOUR PRAYERS

More and more people are becoming aware of the increasing violence and violation of human rights in Burma as the government troops advance on peaceful villages, burning the homes, killing men, women and children, raping women, and enslaving the remaining people.  Local response can gain little ground against such a determined evil force.  It is time for this 60 year long civil war to end.

ANNOUNCING THE BILLION PERSONS PRAYING FOR BURMA CAMPAIGN

We, the Worldwide Mission Ministry Team of Auburn Presbyterian Church, call on all those who love the people of Burma and desperately desire peace and freedom for this troubled land to join in prayer. Already several organizations working in and near Burma support this project.  We trust many individuals throughout the world, participating with an organization or not, will join in praying daily for peace, freedom, and unity for the people of Burma.  Our goal is a Billion Persons Praying for Burma.  We emphasize The Global Day of Prayer for Burma each second Sunday in March of every year.  We want to keep praying every day until peace and freedom come to Burma.  This opportunity is open to all.  Please spread the word to anyone you know including e-mailing this notice widely.

Auburn Presbyterian Church in Auburn, California, will act as facilitator and tabulator.  The count on this website will be updated every time a form is filled out indicating one or more people praying.

Pray that God will change the hearts and minds of people in government from “orders to kill” to “a love for the people.”  Further, that God will bring the various factions together in a lasting peace, freedom, and national unity for this troubled land.

God is the only One who can bring peace, freedom, and unity to Burma.  He has told us to pray and that He will answer.

“The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.  He fulfills the desires of those who fear him; he hears their cry and saves them.  The Lord watches over all who love him, but all the wicked he will destroy.”  Psalm 145:18-20

“I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven.  For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.”  Matthew 18:19-20

“I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”  Mark 11:24

“O righteous God who searches minds and hearts, bring to an end the violence of the wicked and make the righteous secure.” (NIV)  Psalm 7:9

Let us pray,
